PERSONAL
INSURANCE COVERAGE AT AUSTRALIAN FLYBALL
ASSOCIATION EVENTS (3.8.10) The A.F.A has in place Public Liability insurance that covers
ONLY the A.F.A and its members
for any incident at any A.F.A organised activity including competitions or demonstrations.
Any ANKC member participating (in any capacity – entrant,
volunteer, observer etc) at an A.F.A flyball event not only in the A.C.T but
all states, must be a member
of the A.F.A to have any insurance cover at that A.F.A event.
As it is not a
Dogs A.C.T sanctioned event, Dogs A.C.T has
no insurance responsibility to those ANKC members who wish compete or contribute
(in any
capacity) at A.F.A events.
Any team that wishes to represent Dogs A.C.T or carry any
endorsement from Dogs A.C.T must apply in writing to Dogs A.C.T and permission
granted by the Dogs A.C.T Council, as any such team would require insurance
coverage from Dogs A.C.T that does not exist for non sanctioned events.
DOGS
A.C.T COUNCIL MEETINGS - NEW DATES (1.8.10) My

MOTOR
VEHICLES ARE PROHIBITED FROM ACCESSING THE
DOG GROUND/RING AREA. (21.6.10)
Show/Trial Secretaries
- There should be no motor vehicles on the dog grounds from
4.00pm the evening before the start of the show/trial weekend until the show/trial is complete. This
allows for vendors to drop off their trailer etc, but their motor vehicle must
be removed as soon as possible.
There is no reason for any exhibitor to bring a motor vehicle onto the grounds
at anytime. Recently exhibitors motor vehicles have accessed the area of the
lower dog rings to
remove property.
Any exhibitor caught bringing their motor vehicle onto the ground risks being
banned from exhibiting at future shows. Any of these people that are
rude/abusive/insulting to any of your show committee's when questioned or directed to leave
are to be reported to Dogs ACT.

ANKC
GUIDELINES FOR AFFILIATES & THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES
TOWARDS EVENT JUDGES. (1.3.10)
The original intent
of these guidelines are to address concerns raised by Judge’s in respect of
places they travel to where the accommodation, travel, etc were less than adequate.
I'm sure that past problems don't apply to ACT Clubs, but it is always wise
to know your obligations when contracting
judges.

DON'T
GET CAUGHT OUT - CHANGES
TO PARKING AND ROAD RULES WITHIN EXHIBITION
PARK. (19.10.09)
The
internal roadway
which runs circularly
within Exhibition
Park, the same
one which separates the dog rings from the
camping area and which is commonly used as a carpark
on show day, is now
a No Stopping, No
Parking, Tow
Away Area. Not
that it wasn't before, but now the Exhibition
Park management has the right to remove
those vehicles that park illegally
or block or impede the passage of other
vehicles.
New
signs have been erected on the fence line
common to the camping area. To avoid
a parking ticket
or having your
vehicle removed
(removal &
return at your expense) - PLEASE use the correct,
designated dogs show carpark/s. PLEASE
do not bring your protests to Dogs
A.C.T as we FULLY SUPPORT the management
of Exhibition Park in taking this action.

CAMPING ON ACTCA GROUNDS
- Saturday mornings. (1.5.09)
Exhibitors please note that the internal roadway
between the ACT Dogs rings and the Bicentennial Park camping area is closed
between 5am to 12 midday each & every Saturday that the Canberra Markets
operate. The roadway will be closed between the Shell service station entrance
and the Carfair entrance preventing access to the ACTCA office and camping
areas. If you arrive outside of these times, then this will be of little inconvenience
to you. If you arrive during this time and require to park your caravan/camper,
you will need to park in the ACT dog grounds car park until the internal roadway
is open to public use. This is a policy of Exhibition Park (EPIC). We
apologise for this inconvenience.
APPLICATIONS
FOR BREEDER PREFIX (1.3.09)
Please
note that when applying for a breeders prefix
that the applicant must show that they have
at least twelve months continuous membership

SHOW DAY PARKING ~ HANDICAP PARKING ~ TRADERS PARKING
~
Show
day parking - All patrons on show days are
expected to use the Well Station Road car
park. Handicap parking - is clearly
marked on the fence line near both pedestrian
gates between the Well station Rd car park
and dog grounds. Further handicap parking
is available on the internal roadway near
the dog ground toilet/amenity block but
is restricted to cars only (NO trailers).
Traders parking - is on the internal roadway,
lower level ring area, against the
dog ground fence which enable the traders
to move freely, restock etc. without dog
trailers boxing them in. The camping
area - adjacent to the dog grounds will
be locked unless there is a need to allow
extra camping spaces. Camping is available
against the fence line adjacent to the ACTCA
Offices and Well Station Rd car park.
Camping - new requirement (actually an old
requirement that had allowed to lapse) that
campers pre-book to allow show management
to organise suitable amenities.
