CHANGES TO DOGS ACT REGULATIONS (30.11.11)
The following Dogs ACT regulations have been updated to reflect changes made to ANKC regulations at the 2011 ANKC Board meeting. Part 4 - Registry & Registration. Part 6 - Show Part 9 - Judges. Part 11 Awards & Titles.
CHANGES TO
ANKC CONFORMATION TITLES (28.11.11)
ANKC
Regulation Part 5 Show Section 7.7 Australian Champion (amended 10/11).
The owner of a
dog registered with the ANKC Ltd which:
(a) Wins not fewer than four Challenge
Certificates/Best of Breed Certificates under not fewer than four different
Judges at four different exhibitions; and
(b) Gains a total of 100 points; may apply
for such dog to be known as a Champion.

- of which twenty five (25) of these points are gained after the age of twelve (12) months.
ANKC
Regulation Part 5 Show Section 7.8 Neuter Champion
The owner of a
neutered dog registered with the ANKC Ltd which:
(a) Wins not fewer than four Neuter
Certificates/Best Neuter of Breed Certificates under not fewer than four
different Judges at four different exhibitions; and
(b) Gains a total of 100 points, of which
twenty five (25) of these points are gained after the age of twelve (12)
months; may apply for such dog to be known as a Neutered Champion.

Regulation Part 5 Show - Section 7.9 Grand Champion (amended 10/11).
a) Using the points system as approved
by the ANKC Ltd at the time, an animal will be required to receive 1000 points
to be eligible to the title of Grand Champion.
b) All dogs that qualify for the Grand
Champion title under Rule 7.9 are eligible to apply for the title after the
implementation date of 1 January 2012.
c) The implementation date for the
awarding of the title of Grand Champion 1 January 1998.
d) A Grand Championship will not be
awarded to animals retrospectively, but an animal will be eligible to be
awarded the title of Grand Champion, if they gain some points towards the title
of Grand Champion (1000 points) after the implementation date of the 1 January
1998.

or 25 point challenges.
ANKC
Regulation Part 5 Show - Section 7.10 Supreme Champion (NEW 10/11)
a) Using the points system as approved
by the ANKC Ltd at the time, an animal will be required to attain the following
qualifications to be eligible to the title of Supreme Champion. 1,000 points,
including 3 All Breeds Best in Shows; or 10 Best in
Group/Specialty Best in Show. Either 3
different Best in Show Judges or 10 different
Best in Group/Specialty judges must be submitted. There can be
no repeated judges.
b) The implementation date for the
awarding of the title of Supreme Champion to be 1 July 2012.
c) A Supreme Championship will not be
awarded to animals retrospectively, but an animal will be eligible to be
awarded the title of Supreme Champion, if they gain some points towards the
title of Supreme Champion (1000 points) after the implementation date of the 1
July 2012.
EXPRESSION OF INTERESTS 2012 CONFORMATION STEWARDS COURSE (15.10.11)
This is a reminder that expressions of
interest for the next Dogs ACT Conformation Stewards Course to be held in early
2012 are to be forwarded to the office of Dogs ACT as soon as possible.
Dogs
ACT hope that the number of applicants will necessitate the course being held
in January February 2012.

NEW FORMAT FOR FORMS ON THE "FORMS & SCHEDULES" PAGE INCLUDING JUDGES CONTRACTS (22.7.11)
Judges Contracts are no longer pre-printed, the Dogs ACT Administration has prepared a Judges contract in the new secure/dymanic format which is now available on the Forms & Schedules" page under "For Clubs".
NEW OBEDIENCE GRAND CHAMPION TITLES:
Canine Controls will receive applications for the title of GRAND OBEDIENCECHAMPION in connection with each
dog, having gained its Obedience Champion Title (O.CH) and its Utility Dog
Excellent (UDX) Title, thereafter gains a further five scores in the Utility
Excellent ring of 185 points or better (qualifying score) under at least three
different Judges.
The Canine Control
will, upon approval of such Title and payment of the prescribed fee, issue to
the applicant an Australian National Kennel Council OBEDIENCE GRAND CHAMPION
Certificate. The title of O.GR.CH.' is to appear before the name of the dog. Qualifying
scores for this title can only be achieved after the 1st January 2011
GERMAN SHEPHERD SURVEY RESULTS (2.2.11) German Shepherd survey results released by the ANKC. The ANKC web site to be updated shortly.
ANKC HERDING RULE REVIEW (12.1.11)
ACT ANKC Herding judges, Dogs ACT Affiliates who hold ANKC herding trials and Dogs ACT member herding participants are invited to submit proposed rule changes to Dogs ACT by 30 June 2011. Submission are to be sent to the Dogs ACT Herding sub-committee via admin@dogsact.org.au
Members are to hold full ACT membership (associate members are to submit proposals through their control of state of residence.) and to include details of their last herding trial.
Submissions will include - Please read the ANKC directive on this review.
NOTICE
OF MEETING - ANKC CONFERENCE LINK MEETING OF NATIONAL BREED COUNCILS (11.1.11)
Delegates
at the October 2010 ANKC Conference resolved that National Breed Councils
conduct biennial conferences from 2012 with confer links being conducted in the
intervening years.The first of the
confer links will take place in 2011.
Notice
is hereby given that the next meeting of National Breed Councils will be held via
confer link on Saturday, 25 June 2011, commencing at 9.30 am.
National
Breed Councils are invited to submit agenda items for this meeting to the ANKC
Administrator, by no later than 25th March, 2011 to allow sufficient time for the agenda to be promulgated prior
to the meeting.
National
Breed Councils are invited to be represented by two representatives at the meeting.
The names of your representatives are to be submitted to the ANKC
Administrator, by no later than 25th
May, 2011.
THE NEW ACT ANIMAL WELFARE LEGISLATION AMENDMENT BILL. (15.12.10)

Bill.

APPROVAL OF THE NATIONAL OBEDIENCE, ENDURANCE & TRACKING JUDGES TRAINING SCHEMES (1.12.10)
APPROVED RULES FOR THE CONDUCT OF DANCES WITH DOGS COMPETITIONS. (1.12.10) Please
find attached the approved Rules for the Conduct of Dances with Dogs
competitions in accordance with the October 2010 ANKC Conference.
COMPULSORY MICRO-CHIPPING PRE REGISTRATION - 1 JANUARY 2012 (22.11.10) We bring to the attention of all Dogs ACT members that compulsory micro-chipping of all puppies across
all states will be compulsory prior to registration commencing 1 January 2012.
